I wanted to share something my Pastor talked about during one of his sermons. This has stuck with me for some time that I want you all to hear as well. He mentioned this is the year of keeping whatever is behind you to behind. Whatever is in front of you stopping you needs to go away. We’re not going to be able to see what God has for us unless we cross that bridge of fear.
This year is a year of change. A year of truly looking and examining your own self. To see and ask yourself “Am I truly walking the way that God wants me to? Am I truly Giving him all of my trust? All of my hope? All of my faith?”
Or am I still trying to control as much of these situations that I can without releasing it to God. This is a year that we have to let God do whatever he’s going to do and stop trying to control the situation. Let things be, let things go. Let go and let God is one of my favorite things to say because there’s so many things that can hold us back.
Whatever is holding you back from fulfilling the purpose that God has for needs to be left in the past so you can start living a purposeful life for Him.
Living a life for God is not easy, we aren’t promised peace here on this earth. But we are promised that God is with us through our sufferings. Think of this verse. —
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. -Romans 5:3-5
Be reminded of this. We may go through trial after trial but in the end, we know God was preparing us for something greater!
