I am lost and don’t know my purpose

For many years I struggled with figuring out what my purpose was.. when I was a young girl I never understood life.. why we are here, and what is the point of all this?

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

It seemed so confusing when I wasn’t living for God. I was completely lost and had no idea of the goodness of God. I’m here to help you recognize and see your purpose.

I believe my purpose is to not only be a mother and future wife again, but also to help others on the journey with God. To be here to encourage other women. Each of us may have something different that God has assigned for us, but they all serve a purpose to Him.

When you are lost in life you can become someone you never wanted to be, while also doing things you never thought you would do. Living without God… that life is lonely, scary, depressing. With God there is hope, love, and life.

Psalm 139:13-16 “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

This verse tells us that God has made us just the way we are on purpose. The diversity of us as humans is a beautiful thing. Each of us is uniquely different, and that’s the way God likes it!

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

2 Timothy 1:9 “Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,”

With understanding our purpose, we have to understand the love God has for us. God had sent His only son to come and die for us.. so that we may not perish but have eternal life.. wow!

Then it goes on to say that He has saved us and has called us to a holy calling.
Not from our works but because of His own purpose and grace.

Job 42:2 “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”

Philippians 3:4 “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ”

When I tell you there is nothing worth more than knowing Christ.. I mean that. These verses let us know that no matter what we lose along the way or what ever we may go through. There is nothing that God doesn’t turn into good, and all things He does is good!

So what is our purpose?

Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Ephesians 5:1-33 “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.”

God tells us here that we are called to share His word to others. We are called to be imitators of Him and to show others the goodness of God by living as the examples He mentions to us. It is not to fulfill our own selves but to glorify God and to help others know Him too.

Sometimes God will bring people to us that may talk about something that you’ve been wondering if you should do or maybe something has struck within you that you can’t seem to shake off.. that very well may be God letting you know that, that is the road He is leading you on. Pray, and talk with God and He will continue to open doors if that’s where He wants you.

John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

Here He tells us that He has chosen us to fulfill His work. Not because of what we did, but because of His grace.

If you feel like you have no purpose… I hope this post helps you see the love God has for you and I pray for those reading this that God opens your heart to Him. So that you may be fulfilled by His glory.
