John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
Ponder on this verse… “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” remember this verse when you go through life. The enemy has 3 objectives for our lives when God calls us. To steal our relationship with God by confusion, so that we don’t trust in God. He wants to kill our soul, to kill and break us down so that we turn from God. He will destroy your family, relationships, and anything that is good he will try to destroy.
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:4
I was talking to my sister in Christ, and she was reminding me of our spiritual battle. How we are battling not against flesh and blood but a spiritual battle. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
She reminded me of the game that Satan plays on us and his ultimate objectives in those who follow the path of God. She used the analogy of chess, and how Satan will use pawns in our life as a strategy to; steal, kill, and destroy. She reminded me that Jesus came not to bring peace, but a sword—
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. Matthew 10:34
When we follow God and give our life to Him that’s when the enemy does the most to destroy that. Be reminded that Satan hates those who follow God, and he wants to— remember these three words: steal, kill, and destroy.
Let’s look at a couple more verses on family, and how Satan will use the family to destroy and manipulate. Satan wants to destroy you, your spouse and your children. Breaking the family dynamic so that you turn away from God.
I’ve realized during this time that Satan was trying to do exactly what he did in my life… to break the family dynamic. Have me not able to trust my spouse, having me confused, and having my children grow up in a broken home so that they stray away from God. But what the enemy meant for evil… God turned around and blessed!
Gods plan is never our own. His ways don’t make sense to us, but they make sense to Him because He is God. God can do all things, so after seeing the scheme I realized the game being played by Satan. Not letting him win this battle. God has a bigger plan for me so I’m going to let Him do what He needs to.
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law— 36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household. – Matthew 10:34-36
Lastly, how do we win against the enemy’s schemes? How do we protect ourselves from the enemy? — Put on the armor of God!
11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Ephesians 6:11-16
